Eyes on Christ | January 1, 2025 - Vol. 18, Issue 1

Welcome to Eyes on Christ—your weekly Wednesday letter exploring faith formation and the good life. For 18 years, I’ve shared stories and reflections on living a Christ-centered life, shaped by Holy Spirit-led adventures in gardens and libraries, extraordinary encounters with global cultures and world-changing technologies, mission and outreach, food, and even fashion, meaningful connections with people and places, and challenges with those who brought pain. Through it all, my faith has been my refuge, guiding me safely through trials and delivering me from evil.

I am deeply grateful to my many Christian communities —spread around the world! Whether you’re a new or returning reader, thanks for joining us as we keep our eyes on Jesus and live out 24/7 Christianity together.

Eyes On Christ is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

❄️ Winter has arrived in the US South, enveloping us in its serene wonder. Its quiet charm mirrors the woodland themes gracing many homes, inside and out. Please enjoy these glimpses of our Christmas celebration in Kentucky—Land of Lincoln—thoughtfully captured through my lens while preserving privacy. 🎄

I also share the heartwarming joy of our Christmas Eve worship at Shepherd’s Grove Pres. Church in Southern California and offer you The Creed of the Beloved for 2025.✨

I close with an In Memoriam for President Jimmy Carter, born October 1, 1924, who passed away on December 29, 2024. He also had a special connection with Kentucky.
