Eyes on Christ | Vol. 20, Issue 24 | June 24, 2026 | Wednesday | Ordinary Time

Welcome to Eyes on Christ, a writing ministry exploring nature, culture, technology, and the everyday stories from around the world that shape our faith. This is my twentieth year writing Eyes on Christ. All glory to God. Every story we share is a bridge, connecting hearts, deepening faith, and increasing community. We’re the quiet voice that reminds even the most distracted believers that worship can happen anywhere, anytime. 🌉💖✨

Two Mothers, Two Continents

Guadalupe and Kibeho

If I’d heard of Our Lady of Guadalupe before I stood in front of her shrine at St. Michael’s Abbey, California’s newest, I don’t remember it. I didn’t even realize the gap until I found a book — quite by accident, on the Religion shelf of our local Barnes & Noble, buried among newer titles. I brought it home, a paperback I couldn’t put down, and was soon transported to the world of central Mexico, and more specifically to Tepeyac, where the Indian convert Juan Diego first saw Mary.
